Surgery is among the many aspects of medical care provided in Mbarara Hospital. In addition to general surgery, the hospital runs Urology, Ear Nose and Throat (ENT), Neuro-Surgery, children Orthopedic, Plastic Surgery. Adult Surgical Services and General surgery, Orthopedics and ENT have regular weekly clinics, further more Urology, Pediatrics and Neuro-Surgery patients are seen on appointments.
The department has … resident general surgeons, ….. medical officer and a number of visiting surgeons of different specialties. Routine work includes: Ward rounds, out-patient and consultation surgical clinics and theater work. From time to time , we get clinical officers, visiting(Foreign and local) medical students as well as medical interns to be trained.
